Notes For Cameron

Hello,

The goal of this posting is to serve as a central area for friends and family to send "not so personal" greetings to Cameron.

Cam has a large social network and of course a large family also. =-) This should help him as he recovers to easily reply and keep in touch with loved ones on a more global platform while allowing him to rest and recover.

Please send him notes by posting comments to only this blog. Of course, more personal correspondance can be done through other means. This is more of like a large Get Well Card. Thank-you

Our love for you began as you mentored and taught our son, Jon. It has grown as we have come to see the wonderful man of God you are. We will continue to hold you in our prayers.

Dear Cameron,
I don't even know where to begin... You have been such a blessing and inspiration to me since the day I met you. You have showed me "God's love" in a way that I would have never seen it. You have helped me get through so many situations in different ways whether it would be having our talks about my "issues" helping me out with school papers(yeah!!) or just trying to get out of our stupid "fights" we would have. Know that you are loved in so many ways by so many people!!

~Don't ever give up, keep a smile on your face, even when your days seem long. As time goes on, I'll be praying for you, that God will keep you strong~ Always remember that!!

Hey Cameron! I remember that time that we were at director's retreat and I saw the tattoo on your leg. For some reason I couldn't think of the character's name... but I gave it a guess and said "stormie O Martian" who is some sort of christian author. Oh you still won't let me live that one down. AND come to think of it, I still don't remember the name of that character. You'll have to remind me again.

I'm teaching 4th and 5th grade now and I was sure to share with my students about your situation. So know that you have 30 San Diego students and an awesome teacher who are praying for you and keeping you in our thoughts. They continue to ask about you and Im always happy to you hear you are making such good progress.

Hey, Cameron ~ Debbi Duffy here (Sunny's mom). Mike and I send you our best wishes and know that you are loved and revered by so many that it is amazing! A true testament to your character, no doubt about it.
We remember all the fun times we had with you as you were growing up with the Class of '94. We came across some pictures the other day of birthday parties, school plays, etc., and you were in most all of them. Even a picture of you and Sunny walking down the aisle together at 8th grade graduation! Remember the time you spent the night ~ it was about the 2nd grade ~ and you and Sunny knocked on the wall between you during the night? So many fun memories.........and you have so many more left to make in your already wondrous life. Get well soon and the richest blessings to you and all those who are caring for you. You're in our thoughts and prayers......

Godspeed~

Hey Cameron...it's me, Nikki Jessee (Woehler). I'm so excited to be writing to you. It's been a long time! :o) I've been going through my mind of all the fun and exciting times we've had in our lives. I remember back to junior high when I had you pass notes to your brother for me. Our incredible friendship grew and blossomed from there. You and I always seemed to have the scoop on everything...guess that's why we ended up getting the "biggest gossip award" for our class! :o) Do you remember the time we were going to a b-ball tournament in Lewiston during the winter and we slid and ended up going into the bank on greer grade? I was so scared I made you back the car out for me! God is so good to us, He always protects us and watches over us when we need Him the most! And I have such fond memories of us during our senior year...I loved spending time with you when we put our '94 on the hill. And all the years you I would pick you up on the way to school. Thanks for riding with me and keeping me company. Do you know you wrote a whole page & a half in my annual?! I saved it just for you buddy. And I still have pictures of when we walked together at graduation. What a great time in our lives. I'm so thankful you have had the opportunity to do so much with your life and to have such an amazing influence on everyone you come in contact with. I can't wait to see you again. I really miss you and think of you often. All my love and prayers are with you always.
Sending you love and hugs....Nikki

Cam!

Remember that time on Tour A when you, Jen, Omar, Nicole, Mel, and I were in the room talking and messing around and the guy next door kept banging on the wall and then called the police? (I don't know why he was so upset... it was only like 1 in the morning... go figure) I was so scared because I was under age and I thought they would take me to jail and my parents would have to come to Texas (or wherever we were) and bail me out of jail. Remember when we went for the "gander" (or was it a "tramp") in the woods of New Zealand and when we went down in that crater that was considered "sacred" to the locals? (those idols at the bottom were interesting...) Remember the "frolic" on the beach and Jon falling and busting his nose? I won't ever forget singing in the Oprah House (how many people get to sing there?) and that wonderful 50 something mile hike to the "perfect photo" spot. Thanks to Eli (aka Hortensea) I learned more then I ever wanted to know about "dingos" and lepersy and if I ever need to lift a 200 pound cow... Wes taught me how!

Um Cam... My mom wanted me to tell you she wants the money to replace our front screen door that you got into a battle with (don't feel bad... gravity always wins...) :) Just kidding... my screen has had to go through some serious tharapy but we think it's going to make it. :P

Seriously Cam, I was so sorry to hear about everything that is going on but I have my family and friends praying for you and your family. I sent you a card in "snail mail" so hopefully it will find it's way to you by Christmas... (hehehe)

Well... I got-2-go so I'll be praying for you and miss you tons! Get better soon!

Laters,

Jessica Robbins... aka... the Care Bear Nazi :P

Cameron,
We are praying daily for you. We wish you the best tomorrow with your heart surgery. I'm so glad to hear that your brothers and mom are with you. We pray that God guides the surgeons hands and gives you all the strenghth. I think you are truly a miracle. I've always heard God doesn't give us more than we can handle. So apparently he thinks very highly of you buddy. I know most of us would not have faired like you have. You've always come through your obstacles with such an amazing attitude. You and your life have already been such a great testimony. We CAN do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Every glimpse of good news has been so wonderful to hear. You are such a fighter and the Lord is so faithful. It says we only need the faith of a mustard seed, and by the looks of it, I think you have fields and fields worth of seeds working on your behalf. There are people from all over that you have touched and are believing for your recovery. Keep fighting. We love you.

Our Dear Cameron,

Thinking about a picture I have of you as a young lad, with your pajamas on and a ball cap, giving us a look like "who are you people and what have you done with my real family!"
I know I contributed some childhood brain injuries slapping you boys silly when I was pushed a little too far waiting for mom to come home from Lewiston...
Words cannot say how much it meant to me when you & Jessie stayed at the hospital waiting for the B.O.C.
Not to take away from everyone else that helped me during Aaron's birth, I was not ready for all the love and concern I was given. When you're the older one, you want to give and it feels odd to receive.

Love, from one of your freakishly large family members,
(forgive me Jessie, I could not resist) Lisa

Ok, this is the fourth letter I have written to you on this blogging thing and it hasn't worked yet. I feel bad my mom was able to figure it out and she is not computer literate at all. I guess I need my "smart" brother-in-law Austin here to show me how to do this. I hope it works this time, but we'll see?? Anyway, just wanted to let you know we are thinking and praying for you everyday. I was thrilled to hear the surgery went well today. Not that I would ever expect anything less from you or the wonderful God we serve. We will continue to pray for a speedy recovery so you can get out of that bed soon, as I understand that has been a goal your determined to accomplish very soon. And I'm sure you will!! By the way could you send Amy, Austin and the kids up this way before they head back to Japan. Thanks, I'd love to see them. I look forward to hearing more about your tremendous improvement in the days and weeks ahead. Take Care Cam. Love Ya, Angie Porter(Umphenour)

Hey Cam Cam!

I love you so much! I have been praying for you every day and I have many of my friends from around the U.S. praying for you as well. I think your whole experience has brought me closer to the Lord because I have never prayed so hard for anything or anyone before in my life! I am so glad to hear that you are recovering well. I know you have been through a lot so I have faith that you will come through all this with flying colors as well. I wish I could come see you but I know I will be in the way so I will stay here in Ohio until I get the word and then I will be out there in a second!

I know I have told you many times but you are such an inspiration to me and one of the main reasons I cherish my time on tour so much. You have touched so many people just by being you and keeping your great attitude and loving people. I will not stop praying for you to have a full recovery so you can keep on being the man of God that you are and continue to touch people's lives. Miss you buddy!

Dear Cam,

I had the GREAT opportunity on Friday morning to go to the hospital and give you your first hair cut since all has happened. I'm not sure if you remember, you were really tired. You kept falling asleep and I'd have to follow your drooping head down to the blankets. :-) You were really cold, too, so you asked Chantal to pull the blanket around your shoulders. At one point you started to shiver a little and she asked you if you were ok. You responded by saying "It's the hypothermia". Bless your heart, your room was so chilly, I'm sure you felt like you had hypothermia, but Chantal and I just giggled and I continued cutting your hair. (thought you'd get a kick out of that!) But we know that you're in very good hands, Cam, and that has been such a comfort to see. Your physical therapist, Mark, is amazing and while I was cutting your hair, it was such a joy to see the nurses coming by your room and just saying hi to you and sharing the excitement of your hair cut with you. You are loved deeply by so many people, and I pray that when you are feeling the discomfort or frustration of being in a hospital room, you will be comforted to know that you are not alone..... people from all over this country are thinking about you, praying for you, reading your blogs, and we're all right there with you. Josh and I are so blessed to be able to call you "brother". It meant the world to Josh when he visited you the other day, that you looked at him and called him by name. We love you so much. Get well, my friend. Until then.... Be still, and KNOW that HE is God.

Love,

Wow, Greg and I just got to come and visit you at the hospital! Praise God they moved you so you could have more visitors. Cameron, it was a blessing to look you right in the eyes and ask you how your day was. I could see the strength of the Lord there in your eyes, and it is so evident in your life. When I told you about the bubble wrap comment I posted earlier, you moved your fingers like you were popping the bubble wrap already, so I'm definitely going to bring you some next time. Keep pushing through, if anyone can do this, it's you and the Lord. You're an unstoppable team the two of you.

Hey Cam!!

You're in my thoughts and prayers everyday! I have so many great memories from our tour together, even though we hit the big 5 year mark this year...crazy that it's been that long isn't it? I loved how much fun we had getting to know each other before tour...you trying to guess my middle name and me trying to learn and remember the names of your siblings (in order at that)! Kasey and I had a blast sending out our little e-mail updates along the drive to CA, and it was a fantastic first day at camp getting to meet all of our online friends in person!

Keep getting better and keep your eyes on Him!! Love you!

Cam -
So it took me a while before I could post anything here for you to read when you get better.

First of all, I hope you're not mad when you realize just how much of your life me and Curtis have unleashed here into the blogosphere, but please know that we did it because we love you and I guess in some weird way this was our way of showing it (feel free to berate me for any inaccuracies you find by the way)

You were still unconscious the last time I saw you, so to hear that you are actually sitting up and talking is something of a wonder to me. I'm posting this at the end of more than 100 notes sent to you and I've read them all. They are filled with people telling you how much they care about you and pray for your recovery. I guess I'm really no different than any of them, but I just want to let you know that you have done the impossible Cam, you really have.

And I'm not talking about the whole "coming back from the dead" thing because let's face it, you've done it several times now (insert "million dollar baby" reference here) But you've also somehow managed to slowly suck the pessimism out of me and turn me into a positive person through all of this.

You scared me to death and I really didn't think there was a chance you'd come through this one. I can't really thank you enough for proving me wrong.

And now, since it can't all be serious.

For anyone out there who is confused by the "Sparky" reference to please email me at:

bonnerjessie@hotmail.com

I will tell you the story of how Cam got this nickname in full detail. Our big sister Lisa also tells a pretty good version of the story as well.

Hi Cam!!

I've been sitting here at work this morning thinking about you and this funny post tour story came to mind...

Do you remember how mad you got at all of us when we went to Disneyland? You were so adamant that you didn't want to ride anything where you'd get wet, but we all insisted on riding Splash Mountain. We sat you in front thinking you'd stay driest there...But I guess the weight of all 7-8 of us was too much for the poor log. You got drenched!!! I still remember the look you shot us getting off the ride ;) Lol Granted, we were all a little sleep deprived, so can't blame us for being grouchy.

Hope you can look back on it now and laugh! I hope that you continue to work on getting better - you've got an awful lot of fan mail to reply to ;) Love you Cam!!

Hey Cameron!
Just thinking about you! I was just at a Kirk Franklin concert and it reminded me of Estes! Oh but wait, you didn't get to enjoy any of those concerts!!! :) Well, he told a really cool story about his son running a relay race at a trac meet, and how coaches put there fastest runners as the last runner becuase they know they can catch up. He said that God is like our Coach, that He put us where we are for a reason, He knows that we can run the race and catch up! And no matter if you fall or get behind whenever you finish the angels in heaven applaud, just like the parents apppaud for the last kid who finishes the track race. Instead of giving up or getting discouraged, just reposition yourself for the remander of the race!

You are doing a great job at fighting and recovering!! Keep it up!

I Love You!

Cameron,
I remember you, although it's been a while, and you may not remember me. If you remember the giant styrofoam Potato in a little town in Idaho, then you might remember me. I still have the picture of you in front of that potato on my computer and it pops up on my screensaver every now and then and I think of you. You stayed in my house the night you performed at my church. I believe you were directing JP. Not sure though. However, you inspired me so much that night, and no less than 2 years later, I went on my first continental tour. Then the next summer I went on another tour! Something that has always struck me about you is your will, your resolve, and your determination. The Lord has gifted you in that way, and I know that those things will become great assets in your fight. And I know that you will overcome so many obstacles, because you are the Lord's child, and He has a grand design for you. Just know that so many people are praying for you, and thinking of you. And the Lord hears all those prayers, and He is watching over you. God bless Cameron. Take care.
